The BJ83 is the first BJ Landers branded aluminum clamshell that we have offered.  After spending combined months in other styles, this was the fit we wanted.  Slim, sleek, fast to use, and made to last.

We love to find new places, which means exploring somewhere every day.  Camping and overlanding has always been as much about the journey, as the destination.  And, being able to stop, pop two latches, and climb in under 15 seconds, might seem overboard, but it really isn't.  We took a risk, and chose to not only make these for ourselves, but some extra to share our enjoyment of getting away with a few others.

Checkout the install video on our youtube channel.

What is included in our tent

*Aluminum honeycomb panels*  This method of construction was a must.  Not only does it offer unparalleled strength and lightness, but the thermal transfer characteristics are amazing.  This was a must.

*Stainless steel gas struts*  You won't find any painted, zinc coated, or black oxide hardware on the outside in the elements.

*3" thick mattress*  We knew a comfortable mattress was a must.  And, we knew that hot nights can make for an uncomfortable sleep, so we have cotton on the top, and nylon on the bottom, finished with a full zippered surround to make sure it can be removed and refreshed.

*Anti condensation mat*  We were on the fence about this, as the aluminum honeycomb panels are so effective at thermal transfer, but we made sure it was included.  No extra charges for this nice addition.

*Three windows - three ladder options*  Maybe you go left, next night right, and then the third down the middle.  We made sure you had mounting hardware on all three of the openings.  No extra charges, for extra parts that should and do come standard with our tents.

*Dual louvered vents*  You will find a covered, and louvered vent up high on both sides in our tent.  You definitely won't find one in the end, as no one wants ice and condensation building up in their awning.

*Quilted and insulated roof*  We went one step above the rest here, and avoided weird stretchy fabrics, or smelly wool felts.  You get an insulated, quilted diamond pattern roof liner to further enhance the thermal transfer.  Keeping the hot or cold out, never looked so good!

*Full surround T-nut style channel*   Want to mount more traction boards, awnings, bottle openers, lights, anything your heart desires?  Having full wrap around channeling to use, makes placement options endless.

*Roof cross bars*  Got some swanky traction mats, extra surfboard, noisy passenger? (Kidding, passengers should not be strapped to roof bars).   You can toss up 150 lbs when it's closed, and still have it handsomely pop open with 80 lbs still on top.   Again, some guys think they're SMART, and charge hundreds extra, but throwing these in no charge was the smarterest thing to do.

*No velcro - only zippers*  No velcro here, we leave that on our shoes, where it belongs.  You will only find zippered attachments, even the awning.  We went with a reliable branded zipper manufacturer, good to go for 2am bathroom breaks.

*Heavy duty mounting kit*  Best mounting kit, hands down, feet straight up.  You get eight steel plates, nine nuts, nine bolts, and a legit ratcheting box end wrench.  This one is on us, no extra "heavy duty" kits to be purchased, we got you covered.

*Three external gear storage bags*  Want your stinky shoes inside?  Yah, we didn't think so, so we included three bags.  Put one at every opening, and don't worry as the flap is a water proof fabric, but the bottom is breathable mesh.

*Storage everywhere*  Pockets and pouches everywhere.  The tent allows for some great usage of non sleeping areas, and we wanted to make sure it didn't get wasted.  You get dual pouches left and right, along with six stretchy cargo pouches on the roof.

*USB rechargeable light*  Want a light to see what's what?  You bet.  Want to keep finding and replacing batteries?  No thanks.  Included is a usb rechargeable, three mode light.

*Heat tape on every stitch*  This was also an absolute.  Whilst stitch wicking is pretty unlikely, it's still a point of moisture transfer in a good storm.  So we had every stitch heat taped.  It might seem basic, but it was still a must have.

*Anti stress rounded corners*  You won't find hard angles riveted into the corners on our tents, that's just bad design.  You won't find square windows on a boat for the exact same reasons, equal and consistent stress distribution.  Putting hard angles, at the locations with the greatest stress is just a bad idea.

This modern tent installs easily on all vehicles, pops up in less than a minute, and is both waterproof and super durable. The BJLanders rooftop hardshell tents come with everything you need for an easy installation including mounting brackets.
